Our genetic services consist of the study of heredity and different inherited characteristics to help you fulfil your fertility requirements.
Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT)
Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT) the procedure that allows us to test embryos before transfer.
It includes PGT-A, PGT-M and PGT-SR.
Chromosomes are genetic structures found in nearly every cell of our bodies. The first cell of an embryo is made up of a set of chromosomes from the sperm and another set from the egg.
But if the cell doesn’t have the right number and structure of chromosomes, this can lead to implantation failure, miscarriage or a baby affected with a serious condition.
PGT-A
Pre-implantation genetic testing for aneuploidy (the number of chromosomes), previously known as PGS testing, is a genetic screening test performed on embryos produced during an IVF treatment cycle.
PGT-A gives information about your embryos’ genetic health and gender to help us select the best embryo for transfer and improve your chance of achieving a successful pregnancy.
PGT-M
For people who know they are at increased risk of passing on a specific genetic condition, PGT-M (or Preimplantation Genetic Testing for Monogenic/Single Gene Defects) can be performed prior to pregnancy to greatly reduce the risk of having an affected child.
PGT-SR
For people with a chromosomal rearrangement, PGT-SR (Preimplantation Genetic Testing for Chromosomal Structural Rearrangements) can be performed to improve the chance of establishing a healthy pregnancy.
Gender Selection
This is the procedure of choice for couples who wish to balance the gender of their families. It allows you to choose the gender of your baby for the upcoming pregnancy.
As well as allowing us to test the embryos for gender, we can also test for major chromosomal abnormalities before transferring the embryo to the womb using the ICSI technique.
